Long Ago
Long ago, people lived and prospered on the land known as Denendeh to the Dene, Nunakput to the Inuvialuit, and came to be known as the Northwest Territories, Canada. The land is a storyteller that connects people with place. The land and its bountiful resources are reflected in culture through powerful ways of knowing, doing, being, and believing. Origin stories and physical markers left behind give us a glimpse of life long ago. Stories are passed down from generation to generation throughout the rich region, flowing out to the northern sea.
